Terms of Service

Last updated 30 July 2026

These terms cover your use of Playthroughs. By creating an account you agree to them. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.

Who we are

Playthroughs is a game journal application. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean the operator of Playthroughs, and “you” means the person using it.

Using Playthroughs

You need an account to log games, write reviews and comment. You must be old enough to hold an account under the law where you live, and at least 13 in any case. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself.

You may use Playthroughs for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not scrape it, resell access to it, or use it to build a competing dataset.

Your content

Anything you write — reviews, comments, lists, playthrough notes, your profile — remains yours. We do not claim ownership of it.

To run the service we need permission to store your content and show it to other users, so by posting it you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display it for the purpose of operating and improving Playthroughs. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except where we must retain something to comply with the law or to keep a record of a moderation decision.

You confirm that you have the right to post what you post.

Acceptable use

Our Community Guidelines form part of these terms. Breaking them is breaking these terms.

In short: do not harass people, do not post hateful or threatening content, do not post sexual content, do not spam, do not publish other people's private information, do not impersonate anyone, and do not use the service unlawfully.

Moderation and enforcement

We may remove content, reset the profile fields of an account, or suspend an account that breaks these terms. We use the least disruptive measure that resolves the problem, and we act on reports from users as well as on things we notice ourselves. Content removal is permanent and cannot be undone.

Every comment, review, list, playthrough and profile can be reported from inside the app, and any user can be blocked. Reporting and blocking are separate: reporting someone never blocks them unless you choose to.

The owner of a review, list or playthrough may remove comments on it at their discretion.

If you believe a moderation decision was wrong, contact us at the address below.

Game data

Game titles, cover art, screenshots, descriptions and related metadata come from third-party sources, principally IGDB. That material belongs to its respective owners and is used for identification and reference. We correct catalogue errors when they are reported, but we do not warrant that game data is complete or accurate.

Availability

Playthroughs is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will never be lost. We take reasonable care, but this is not an enterprise service with an uptime guarantee, and it would be dishonest to imply otherwise.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service. Where a change is significant and we can give notice, we will.

Ending your account

You may stop using Playthroughs at any time and request deletion of your account.

We may terminate or suspend your account if you break these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we cease operating the service.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss of data arising from your use of Playthroughs.

Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what data we collect and how we handle it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top reflects the most recent change, and we will tell you in the app when a change is material.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute. This does not deprive you of any protection you have under the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.
