Delete your Playthroughs account
You can delete your account at any time. It’s permanent and can’t be undone: your profile, playthroughs, ratings, lists, follows, blocks and sign-in details are removed from the live service straight away, and your email address can be used for a new account straight away. Deactivating instead hides your account and keeps your data.
In the app
Open your profile, tap Settings, then choose Delete account. You’ll be asked to type DELETE and confirm with your password. If your account has no password, confirm with one of your connected sign-in methods, such as Apple or Google, instead. Administrator accounts can’t be deleted this way.
If you use Sign in with Apple, we also ask Apple to disconnect Playthroughs from your Apple ID, and keep asking until Apple confirms. Until then, you may need to wait a short while before using the same Apple ID for a new account.
Without app access (Google Play data-deletion request)
If you can’t open the app, for example because you’ve lost your device or your only sign-in method, email admin@playthroughs.app from the address on your account and ask for your account to be deleted. Include your username so the request can be matched.
We’ll check that the account is yours before deleting it, usually by email. We’ll never ask for your password or a sign-in code. If your account uses an Apple relay address, our emails go through Apple’s relay, so allow a little longer for a reply.
What we keep
Your playthroughs, reviews, lists, comments, ratings, relationships and sign-in credentials are removed from the live service as soon as deletion completes. Some things are handled separately or kept for a limited purpose:
- Profile photo files are deleted from storage shortly afterwards. An exact photo that someone has reported is kept until a person decides the report.
- We ask our analytics provider to delete the events linked to your account. It carries out deletions asynchronously, so an accepted request is not proof that the data has already gone.
- Moderation reports that mention your account are kept as evidence, with your details removed, for as long as they are needed to resolve the report, enforce our rules or meet a legal obligation. Copies of the content you deleted are not kept for them.
- Crash reports are not erased automatically. Email us to ask for those linked to your account to be erased.
- Deleted content can remain in backups until they expire. Backups are kept for disaster recovery only.
- Statistics that can’t identify you may remain. If you used Sign in with Apple, a record of the disconnection is kept until Apple confirms it, then briefly to guard against repeated requests. That record isn’t anonymised while it exists.
