This draft explains how Playthroughs expects to handle personal data. It should be reviewed before launch and before any analytics, marketing, payments or third-party sharing is added.
Information we collect
- Account details such as your email address, username, display name, avatar, biography and authentication records.
- Content you choose to add, including playthroughs, sessions, ratings, reviews, lists, comments, tags, collection entries and profile activity.
- Social and safety data such as follows, blocks, likes, reports and moderation decisions.
- Technical data needed to run the service, including device, browser, IP address, request logs, diagnostics and web sign-in cookies.
- Migration data you provide when importing from another service, including imported games, statuses, ratings, dates and notes.
How we use it
- To provide Playthroughs, keep your account signed in, sync your activity across devices and show your profile and content to the audiences you choose.
- To operate safety features, investigate abuse, protect the service and enforce terms or community rules.
- To understand whether the app is working correctly, diagnose issues and improve reliability.
- To contact you about account, security or service updates. Marketing messages, if introduced, will require a separate opt-in.
Cookies on web
- On web, Playthroughs uses essential HttpOnly sign-in cookies so your browser can keep or resume an authenticated session.
- Without Remember me, the sign-in cookie lasts for the current browser session. With Remember me, the cookie is kept for up to 60 days.
- These cookies are used only for authentication and are not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Sharing and visibility
- Public or follower-visible content may be shown to other users according to your profile and content settings.
- We may use service providers for hosting, storage, email, analytics, moderation or infrastructure. They should only process data for Playthroughs.
- We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users, or to investigate abuse or security incidents.
Retention and deletion
- We keep account and content data for as long as needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and protect the platform.
- You can request account deletion or data access. Some records may be retained for security, moderation, audit or legal reasons where permitted.
Your choices
- You can edit your profile, manage what you publish and choose whether web sign-in persists by using Remember me.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export or object to certain processing of your personal data.
